7 Reasons to travel

Hello,

Happy Monday, how are you? It’s just a week until I head to Somerset and I feel beyond content to be going. Everything just seems to have aligned and feels like it’s meant to be. My manifestation has been working. Do you have any last minute travel plans in the next few weeks? I’d love to know what they are.

Up until two years ago, I was too scared to go anywhere on my own, let alone travel somewhere and explore. That was until I met someone from Tinder who made me push myself out of my comfort zone and head to Macclesfield alone. My fears of getting lost, being abandoned in an unknown place and all the other possible what ifs were also met with, excitement, a sense of freedom and sense of adventure. Since then, I have longed for trips away and exploration days.

Travelling doesn’t have to be a scary thing, whether you do it on your own or with someone else. You’ll find yourself relating to at least one of these seven points.

7 reasons to travel

1. Challenge yourself – Like me, push yourself out of your comfort zone and pass the “but what if xyz” and learn from whatever lesson it may teach you. Not everything will go perfect, there will be hiccups along the way, but you’ll never know what may be what if you don’t challenge yourself to begin with.

2. Expanding your prospective – Travelling helps to make your everyday problems look minuscule compared to some of the sights you may see. You’ll soon realise that you can adapt to change pretty well and use this in other aspects of your life.

3. Appreciating life – We tend to overlook our luxuries and our freedom until it’s taken away from us. That’s anything from clean clothes, hot water, Internet, our phones, the list can go on and on. Once you have one or more taken away, when you get home you begin to find a whole new outlook on what’s important and what’s not.

4. Building relationships – My travels so far have been with Jack and I do believe that it helped bond our friendship in the best way. We had to rely on each other for company. There’s many things I wouldn’t have done if I hadn’t been pushed by him to keep going and the same for him. It’s amazing what travelling does for your friendships.

5. Relax and rejuvenate – Take in all of your surroundings without rushing. Open all of your senses and your mind up to all the possibilities that are in front of you. Travel helps you to escape from your at home worries and opens you up to new wonders. Everyone needs a break every now and then, so take one and begin to live day by day.

6. Escape – A new place with lots of fun distractions can work wonders.

7. Finding serenity – At home life can always be so loud and hectic, from family life to friends dramas, work deadlines and trying to keep on top of everything. One of the reasons I travel is to find peace within the quiet moments, to just stand still, breathe and take in everything around me. You should try it!

Did you relate to at least one of these points? Do you have a different reason for travelling? I’d love to know! Drop a comment and share it with me.

Thank you for reading today’s post, I hope you enjoyed it. If you did, be sure to like, comment and follow me for more things travel.

I will be back next week with a “Pack with me” post!

Until then,

Stay safe.
